Roger McCluskey was an American professional racing driver born on August 24, 1930, in Tucson, Arizona. He participated in various forms of auto racing including open-wheel, stock car, and sports car racing. McCluskey began his racing career in 1948 in a midget car race and later moved up to USAC Championship Car racing, where he recorded 23 victories and 17 pole positions.
In 1973, McCluskey won the USAC National Championship, becoming the oldest driver to win the championship at the age of 43. He was also known for his success in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, where he recorded five victories.
Throughout his career, McCluskey raced for various teams including Vollstedt Enterprises, Leader Cards, and Federal Auto Parts, among others. In 1995, he was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America. McCluskey passed away on May 29, 1993, at the age of 62.
